Thomas Davis announces he tested positive for banned substance

Jaguars linebacker Thomas Davis' 2018 season will begin with a suspension.

The NFL has not declared a boycott yet, but rather Davis has reported that he has tried positive for a prohibited substance in a video presented on Twitter on Friday evening. Davis said in the video that he will serve a four-diversion suspension in the wake of being "totally found napping" by the group revealing to him that he tried positive.

Davis said the substance was an “estrogen blocker” in a supplement that he’s used for the last seven or eight years without triggering a positive test until now. Davis said he did not and would not “intentionally” do anything to “cheat the game” and that his “conscience is clear.”

He additionally recognizes that NFL governs about players being in charge of what they put in their bodies is clear and that he's cross paths with them because of the test. That will leave Davis inaccessible to begin the year and leave the Panthers searching for another arrangement at linebacker for a fourth of the 2018 season.
